" it's hardly worth while finishing the game" meaning
I brought the original phrase from Alice in wonderland
`Not at all,' said Alice: `she's so extremely--' Just then
she noticed that the Queen was close behind her, listening: so
she went on, `--likely to win, that it's hardly worth while
finishing the game.'
In the context above, what is the meaning of "it's hardly worth while finishing the game."?
Here are some of my guesses
1. Finishing the game is not worth.
2. Struggling for the win is not worth because the queen is likely to win
3. Until the end of the game, something(which pronoun 'it' indicates) is not worth.
I'd like to know the correct translation :)
