«Toronto» or «Torono»? I heard that Canadians call Toronto «Torono» (sorry if i'm mistaken) They sound the word without the second «T», aren't they? Why? Is it accent? Thank you in advance!

"Torono" is a very common North American pronunciation of the word. Remember that in North American English, the "t" is often barely tapped with the tongue, unlike the British pronunciation. Example: "wanted" sounds like "wanned".

It's a regional and class accent, but Canada is a big country and the further away you are from Toronto the more pronounced the second "t" becomes. https://youtu.be/o6QDjDPRF5c?t=122

Yes, Americans: no sense of proper pronunciation :( Worse, though. party --> pardy . Recently had a CEO spent time in teh USA - horrific, all those "t"s becoming "d". <shudders, cringes> Really interested to know how they tell the difference between words with a "t" and a "d" in that case.
