People (plural/singular)
Hi, there
Should I say "is" or "are", "consume" or "consumes" in these sentences? And should I repeat the word "people" after "Brazilian" in the first sentence?
"No people is/are more distant than this ritualistic notion of life than the Brazilian (people)"
"the American people is/are one of the people who consume/consumes the most turkey meat"
Thank you very much!

"People" is a plural noun so you should use "are".
I don't understand what you are trying to say in your first sentence but If you are going to leave out "people" at the end of the sentence then you should say "the Brazilians"
"the American people are one of the people" doesn't sound right.
You could get out of it by changing it to:
"the American people are amongst those who consume..."

Even better to use another term for the second "people".
The American people are one of the groups who consume the most turkey meat.
Capital letter --- . Full stop. :)
Enjoy.
