About "listen to" My friend asked a really good question. Why do English speakers say "listen TO music"? Why not just "listen music" or something else? What is the meaning of that "to"? It looks so illogical

Prepositions are tricky in any language) Doesn't she ask why they "enter rooms" and not "enter into rooms", why they "leave London" and not "leave from London", etc.?))

"Listen" is an intransitive verb, it can't take a direct object so you can not say "listen music", you have to have a preposition. So you can listen to something and you can also listen (out) for something (you can't hear it now but you expect to hear it soon)
