why is this d'incroyables photos and not des photos incroyables? I'm confused about this sentence: "Voici un merveilleux livre avec d’incroyables photos de Paris". Is the sentence correct as written? I thought "incroyable" follows the noun so I would expect this to be des photos incroyables. Can you please explain why if the sentence is correct?

Hi Ed K, The general rule is that adjectives in French are placed after the noun. However, there are some exceptions and cases where the adjective can come before the noun. Here are a few examples: 1. Short adjectives come before the noun (like beau, joli, bon, etc.) Example: Un bon repas, une jolie fleur, un beau manteau) 2. The adjective can be placed after or before with a change in the meaning (grand). Example: un homme grand (a tall man), un grand homme (a great man) 3. The adjective can be placed before or after the noun without a change in the meaning. These adjectives offer an appreciation, like fantastique, incroyable, excellent, extraordinaire, passionnant, formidable...Example: un travail fantastique=un fantastique travail In your example, there is no real difference in the meaning and both constructions are grammatically correct. I hope it´s useful! Rocio
