Hello Steven, Verb 'buttare' could have several meanings in Italian as follows: - buttare = gettare = to throw *ha buttato il cappotto sul letto he threw his coat onto the bed *buttare fuori qn to throw sb out *buttare qc addosso a qn to throw sth at sb - to throw away, discard ,to waste *buttare qc a qn to throw sth to sb *buttare qc per terra to throw sth on the ground - "Buttarsi" as a reflexive verb means 'to jump': *buttiamoci! let's jump!, or let's have a go! ( in the sense of 'rischiamo ) *buttarsi in acqua to jump into the water *buttarsi dalla finestra to jump out of the window * Don't try that one ;)*

Ciao! here's 2 more common options (from experience): "Buttafuori": nightclub bouncers. Yes, it literally means "throwers-out"! "Che butta?!": translates as "what's news", "what's happening", but best translates to English as "Whassup?!" (sorry I don't know the Chinese)
