What is your household tradition in exchanging red envelopes (红包，也可作) of money? In my family, married couples, upon seeing family members that are single as well as good friends that are single, are given two red envelopes filled with money. Usually with my family, it is a crisp $1 USD bill in each envelope. One aunt does one or two shinny half dollar coins. I used to spend time with my aunt and uncles as well till both my grand parents passed away (died). So now, if I do not see an aunt or uncle or my brothers do not see their unmarried cousins, no money is given. How about you? What is the tradition in exchanging the red envelopes of money (红包，也可作)?
