Peachey, I think these headlines actually concern Wayne Rooney, the first being a reference to the recent injury which threatened his participation in the World Cup, the second being a Nike pun in reference to the player.

It sounds like a pun on 'kangaroo'. :) References to kangaroos - or "roo's" always indicate something Australian. "England in roo-ins" = ruins. So perhaps England was defeated by Australia in sport? Our football (soccer/calcio, not rugby) team is called The Socceroos. "Just roo it" = Nike slogan 'Just Do It'... Aussie style. Using (kanga)'roo' Australianises the slogan. It seems to be a habit for British and Australian newspapers to make almost every news headline a play on words.
