Acabar de + infinitivo
Ela acabou de fazer o jantar. - ou - Ela acaba de fazer o jantar. Pretérito ou presente? (Europa e Brasil por favor)
The situation is this:
All text books explain 'acabar de' as 'just finished'. But some use the present and some use the preterito. But only one or the other. None of my grammar books use both. Hélio. The examples given at the suggested website contradict your answer.
I've just talked to Ralph about that matter. Acabei de falar com Ralph sobre aquele assunto.
We've just had dinner. Acabamos de jantar.
Peter's just left. Peter acabou de sair.
