'that's a deal' = a business or a personal agreement Example: A: So our 2 companies will do business in future? B: That's a deal. 'When going for' = striving to achieve something Example: When going for an important job interview, you should dress neatly.

More accurately, it means "when attempting to" or "when pursuing" Example: "When going for a job, it pays to learn about the employer first."

That's a deal, means agreed! or That's an agreement! Deal=Agreement=Contract Example: 1stPerson: "I'll help you with your homework, if you help me rake the yard." 2nd Person: "It's a deal!"
