thai script is complicated in some way.... we pronounced the word as how to write it, but sometimes we pronounced it in other way. for example, the word 'ทรา' pronounced as 'tra,' the word 'ทราย' pronounced as 'sai,' the word 'สระ' can pronounced in two ways which has different meaning. some word has different meaning depends on how you pronounced it. thai script also has complex vowel which quite hard to understand. for example, the vowel 'เ-ือ' is a combination of '-ือ' + '-อ.' hope this helps! :)
