A child support check is money paid by a man or woman for the upbringing of their child/children after a divorce. It is based on the principal that parents are obligated to provide appropriate care for their children, as well as that children deserve to have the same standard of living they would have had if they live in a full family. When parents divorce, there are many issues arising around the child support check. Some people go overseas to avoid payment. In Australia, money is deducted from either the father or mother's bank account and the child support check is sent to the parent with whom the child lives.

It's typically a check(money) that is received by the mother after a divorce occurs. The father pays a "child support check" to the mother to help pay for expenses in raising the child. He keeps sending money to the mother until the child is 18 years old.
