Yesterday was Tanabata, also known as the Star Festival in Japan. It is said to be a day when wishes can come true. People write their wishes on small pieces of paper called tanzaku and hang them on bamboo branches in hopes that their wishes will be heard. What kind of wishes would you make? But remember—there’s a saying that if you speak your wish out loud, it might not come true.
