Today I read an article about the ancient Greek mythology, which opened a new world for me. I have (made clear the relationship of) figured out the convoluted relations between Titans, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. One of Titans married his own sister, and gave birth to three boys and three girls. Titans were powerful but their three sons Zeus, Poseidon,and Hades, turned over their reign. Zeus became king of heavens. Poseidon became king of seas. But Hades was left to rule the underworld in darkness and in misery. Hades felt upset and wanted the revenge. Afterwards, Zeus created man, and man’s prayers fed gods’ immortality. As I finished the reading, I wondered why ancient Greek gods could marry their sisters, even their mother (she had children with her sons and grandsons), which is beyond (the reaches of) my imagination. I plan to learn more about the complicated world of Gods of ancient Greeks.
