If it's from the song Heroine by the Sleeping With Sirens, then I'm guessing it's a part of an extended metaphor. The girl is compared to drugs.

There are two metaphors, I believe. I went back read the rest of the lyrics rather than just the few lines that I had before.
1. Girl is like heroine (but since "like" or "as" don't show up, it isn't a simile).
2. Fire is a metaphor for one of the things that I had mentioned before. Strong spirit or strong side effects. I believe it to be both because of number one: the girl is like heroine.
Bonus: there is a play on words because the word "heroine" is both a drug AND the female version of a hero. They are pronounced identically, so they could easily be interchanged.

By itself, I would say that it's advice on how to live. To pay respect to or honor your strength and passion for life. However, I looked at the song (heroine) that was mentioned by the other person who answered your question and it has a different meaning. In that context, it means that even though they know that there are terrible side effects, they willingly and excitedly take it and praise it anyway.
