What's the most difficult job interview question that you've ever encountered? Having a job interview in a foreign language is tough! Through working with nearly 500 clients on italki getting ready for job interview's in English, I've found that the question "Tell me a bit about yourself." is one that causes so much stress! So, as you're getting ready for your next interview, here's a structure you can use to introduce yourself with impact: The APMPF Structure. A - Appreciation - Start by telling your interviewer thanks for taking the time for your interview! P - Present - Describe your present / most recent / most relevant activities. The goal here is to say the right thing so that the interviewer believes that your current job has served as job training for their opportunity. M - Motivation - What motivates you to do the work you do? Keep this section short and direct! A question to ask yourself: If the payment for your work weren't money, what would it be? In my case as a coach, the sense of satisfaction when I receive a message from a client telling me that they got the job and no longer need my services! P - Past - What about your past experience and education is most relevant to this position? The goal here is to say the right thing so that the interviewer believes that your past experiences have served as job training for their opportunity. F - Future - Speak about how your future goals align with the work you would be doing with this organization. A great idea here is to speak about the mission / vision / values of the organization, specifically focusing on ONE with which you most closely identify. Would you like my complete guide on the APMPF structure? It's free! Just send me a message on Italki, and I'll send you the guide! And if you'd like help preparing your answer, just let me know!
