I took the book from the foreign books section of the bookstore because the book seemed familiar and short. Foreign books have different textures and smells from Korean books. I can't say that foreign books have nice scents. ​ ​ ​ The book indicates the attitudes the characters take before, during, and after the change occurs. The ideal attitude that the author demonstrates intends not being arrogant, paying attention to the slight changes, and admitting the big changes. The mice, who are the characters of the book, showed the attitude appropriately. The mice immediately moved on to look for a chamber with a new cheese. However, the little people were searching for the fundamental reason of the unfairness they faced. It reminded me of the novel by Bernard Werber "Empire of the Ants". Whenever the ants in the novel encounter a problem, they gather up to find out the best way to get through it rather than blame what led them to the situation. ​ ​ ​ When "Haw" was leaving the place to look for the new cheese, he defeated the fear inside and found the way to the new cheese interesting. Adapting to the change might give a feeling similar to what Haw had experienced. Personally, I have adapted to the change and enjoyed the process, but I am still willing to have a cheese that gets no mold. Even though the process of adapting was interesting, I would prefer not to encounter a change. At least, I want to stay in the chamber as long as possible before the cheese gets moldy.
