In my Chemistry studies, I have learnt two very interesting facts about temperature and water displacement. I learnt that temperature is measured against the average kinetic energy (the energy of an object because of its movement) of the particles (atoms) in an object. The greater the motion of the particles, the higher the temperature. When an object is put into a container of water, a certain volume of water is displaced. Interestingly, that displaced volume is equal to the volume of the object submerged.
