We Nepalese celebrated Asaar Pandhra (असार पन्ध्र), also known as 'Dhaan Diwas (धान दिवस)', on June 29th. It's a special day to enjoy Dahi Chiuraa (Curd and beaten rice), plant paddy, play in the mud, and sing Asaare geet (असारे गीत).
Nepal used to be primarily an agricultural country, with over 80% of people in this field. However, over time, the number of farmers has decreased. According to Google, now only 50% of people are engaged in farming.
Nevertheless, Asaar Pandhra remains one of our most cherished traditions. If you're interested in seeing how to prepare Dahi Chiuraa, you can watch the video here👇
