If you're looking at the food, or a picture of the food, when asking this, it would be more natural to simply say:
Do you know what this is called? Or even
Do you know what this is?

2 is correct
You could also say
Do you know what this kind of food is called?
Do you know the name of this item of food?
Do you know what this type of food is called?
Do you know what we call this variety of food?
Etc
