مدرّسASHENDA: CELEBRATION OF FEMININITY
Ashenda is a traditional festival celebrated primarily in parts of Ethiopia, particularly the Tigray region. It usually takes place in August and marks the end of the rainy season. The festival is characterized by vibrant celebrations that include singing, dancing, and various cultural activities.
Ashenda is a time for young women and girls to celebrate their femininity. Participants often wear traditional clothing, with young girls dressing in beautiful dresses made from cotton and adorned with colorful decorations.
Ashenda is celebrated on the 16th of August in the Ethiopian calendar, which corresponds to the 22th August in the Gregorian calendar.
Ashenda is not only a time for joy and festivity but also an opportunity for cultural expression and community solidarity.
