Is "I think maybe..." correct?
My textbook written by a man from the U.S. says, "I think maybe..." isn't correct, and it says that you have to say, "I think..." or "Maybe...", but I've heard a lot of native English speakers' saying, "I think maybe...".

I believe that your textbook author is correct in most cases that you will experience.
For example the sentence:
"I think maybe it will rain today"
This does not sound natural to me. If I wanted to tell someone that it might rain today I would say this:
"I think that it might rain today"
