1(a). He gave the door a kick.
1(b). He gave a kick to the door.
2(a). She will pay him a visit.
2(b). She will pay a visit to him.
3(a). I gave Tom a nudge.
3(b). I gave a nudge to Tom.
4(a). I have found Tom a place.
4(b) I have a place to/for Tom.(to ,for?)
5(a). I have found the magnolia tree a place.
5(b). I have found a place for the magnolia.
Question: Which is grammatically correct in each pair of the sentences?

They are all correct grammatically. Some are just more common or natural than others. The most natural are:
1 a

3 a
4 either
5 b

They are all grammatically correct, but it’s a question on what you want to emphasize.
For example if I asked “Who did you touch?”, “I gave Tom a nudge” is better cause the question was about who.
But if I asked “What did you do to Tom?” then “I gave a nudge to Tom” is better cause the question was focused on what you did.
