Can I say I’m so -so, when asked how are you? Or What’s another way to say I’m just ok. Thank you!

Yes, say "so so" to mean that you are OK, but just OK, not great. If you are feeling good, you should not say "so so". Normally, when people ask us how we are, we say we are fine, even if we are not. When talking to casual acquaintances, you don't want to spill your troubles. However, if you are with a friend with whom you want to be honest, you can use "so so" to indicate that you are not feeling as well as you would like to feel.

In the American South, there is a folksy reply to "How are you?" You can reply, "Fair to middling."

The Number ONE response by British Natives to this question is ..... "Not bad, and you?" Alternatives: Well enough, .. Same as before / last time, ... Well, ... you know....., .. (and then just shrug!) Fair to middling, ..
