Hi! The phrase "to ought to do something" is the same as "to have to do something"

Ought is always to be followed by "to".
Ought to = a verbal expression, close to modal auxiliary verbs
Modal verbs express likelihood, ability, permission, request, capacity, suggestions, order, obligation, or advice... but it didn't happen before, and it may well never happen in the future.
Ought to = like "should" but much stronger
I should be leaving, my man is probably waiting, but it's too cosy a place here.
I ought to be ontime at the bus stop, as my boss yells at me when I am late.
So it's not the quite the same as "I have to", but rather "I should".
