Is a pronoun after a preposition disjunctive or indirect.
In my opinion, it would be disjunctive. After all, if one says, "I am thinking about you." There is no direct object, which means there can't be an indirect object to receive it. Furthermore, in Romance languages, a pronoun after a preposition is disjunctive.
However, English is a Germanic language. It used to have cases. In German, each preposition takes a certain case. I can only assume that in Old English, the case would be accusative, dative, or instrumental. Therefore, the pronoun would be direct, indirect, or disjunctive (I think), respectively.
Is it possible that the pronoun is both indirect and disjunctive at the same time based on one's own personal perspective? What are your thoughts?
