Ciao! I’m Marilina, a language enthusiast with a master’s degree in 'Language Mediation' in English and German. I can understand Spanish more than I can speak it, so I do get it if you feel the same way about Italian. Whether you’re preparing for life in Italy or love chatting, our conversations will feel natural and snice I'm a Jack of all trades and master of none, we will always have something to talk about ;)
My experience teaching Italian to migrants deepened my passion for helping learners speak confidently, not just study grammar. My Tutor Profile is meant for anyone who is looking for a tutor to learn Italian or wants to become fluent. I would love to share with you what I learned in my academic language-learning journey such as research-based approaches on how to learn/teach a language.
Lessons will be tailored to your needs. Online excercises, grammar material and resources only when needed. In my lessons:
- we will talk about books, movies and series and topics of interest to you; culture shocks and stereotypes and travels; anything related to Italy and Italians
- I will answer any question about Italy, Italian and Italians and living in Italy
- we will learn how to learn a language efficiently
- we will learn how to understand texts in Italian
- we can prepare for language tests

I've just spent another very useful hour with Marilina. She has proved to be consistently flexible and adaptable to my emerging needs.
Whilst her understanding of football (and particularly the offside rule) may be a bit sketchy 😀 her knowledge and passion for languages shines through.

I had a great lesson with Marilina and hope to have many more - she's an excellent conversationalist, and as a teacher, she gives you plenty of room to try and get your message across, and supports and corrects you when necessary. She really knows her stuff, and as a language learner herself, she can relate to the struggles we all face when trying to learn Italian. This is exactly what I look for in a teacher - thanks again! :-)
