Lorena Ruíz

I have been working with Lorena for nearly the entire year, and I cannot be happier nor more grateful for the work we have done together. She has developed activities that are catered to my progress, ensuring that we are working on improvements that follow a personalized plan for me. She explains idioms and concepts like subjunctive in easy, digestible ways and makes all of it incredibly fun, with each of our sessions filled with laughter. I have seen major improvements in my comfort and fluency through working with her, and all of it could not have happened without her support. For those who are looking to learn and improve their Spanish, there is truly no better place to start than with Lorena.

Lorena is an incredible tutor. Through our weekly meetings, my comfort and enjoyment speaking Spanish has grown exponentially. My initial goal was to become more fluent in conversation so I could serve Spanish-speaking patients. Lorena challenges me during sessions to use more complex grammatical concepts and vocabulary, but somehow our meetings feel relaxed. She has a breadth of knowledge in a diverse range of topics, so I can practice terms related to my profession, but also chat about personal life, politics, literature, and pets. Learning with Lorena has been the best investment I've made the past year.

I had a great first lesson with Lorena. We discussed my goals and how we could work together to achieve them. She speaks clearly and at an appropriate level. Through our first class she assessed my level in Spanish and the areas where I can improve so we can work on those going forward. I look forward to working with her more.

Lorena is by far the best instructor I have ever had. I have tried other methods of learning Spanish but working with her has allowed me to progress quicker than ever and have the motivation to continue working on it. She is a very patient and encouraging instructor. She always comes prepared and provides me a plan for the next class. I always have plenty of time to speak and I get immediate feedback. She even goes as far as to explain the differences for casual and formal phrasing to help when I travel. We have covered foundational topics in different formats to keep learning interesting and challenging. I would recommend her to anyone interested in learning Spanish. She is the most accommodating, supportive, and instructive teacher I have had and will continue taking classes with her.

Lorena is an excellent teacher. I am a beginner and she is very patient with me which helps me relax and learn. I appreciate the goals and objectives she sets and it feels like a class as well as a conversation. Gracious Lorena!
