Hi, my name is Anika , a native English speaker, and I am from New Orleans, Louisiana. I am TESOL certified by Arizona State University and have many years of experience in the classroom. I have worked as an English and Creative Writing teacher and prepared high school students for their English IGCSE exams. Currently I am working on a university degree in English, while doing some courses in Sustainable Development as well. I am passionate about literature, art, music, botany and much more.عني كمعلّم
I‘ve been teaching English for many years and doing so online since the beginning of the pandemic. This move has opened up a world of possibilities for me to combine my love of teaching and my interest in meeting people from different backgrounds. Italki appears to be the perfect platform for the job. Also, I am eager to learn firsthand about the semantic — how people perceive meaning— & language acquisition aspects of language-learning through teaching my students, from the comfort of my home.دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
I use the Affective-Humanistic and Communicative Approaches when it comes to teaching. As a language learner myself, I understand how daunting it is to learn a new language. So I make my classroom a safe place where learning, practicing. and making mistakes are all welcome. The environment is friendly and comfortable, but also engaging and spontaneous. I use authentic materials and role play in order to prepare my students for real-life situations where they would have to communicate effectively. My style is really dependent on what an individual student wants out of my classes: whether it be preparing to ace a test, learning the absolute basics, or just have someone to talk to in English.موادي الخاصة بالتدريس

Anika is a very warm, understanding, patient person. She mostly lets me speak and helps when things get difficult. I use the lessons primarily to maintain my level and expand my vocabulary. I can highly recommend Anika. The only downside is that the lesson is over far too quickly. I'm really looking forward to our next lesson.

Very open, nice and welcoming. She immediately put me at ease and we chatted loveably. She has already proposed me the frequency and programme of the lessons and how they will be carried out. I really like her teaching and communication style.

Anika is a wonderful person. I only take lessons to keep up with my English. Anika is very patient, she's very funny, and she always helps me when I'm stuck. The only disadvantage is that the lesson always goes by much too quickly. I can highly recommend Anika.
