I am Dennis, native Cantonese speaker and online language teacher. I am a freelancer who teach multiple languages, do interpretation and translation jobs. I like history, politics, travelling and sports. If you like watching football, NBA, playing squash, table tennis. I am an experienced Cantonese teacher who have been teaching Cantonese for more than 10 years. I have completed the teacher registration to Education Bureau of Hong Kong in 2015. I have taught in Hong Kong Federation of Women Limited, an organisation providing free lessons to new immigrants from the mainland of China Jyutjiangyuehao, a Cantonese centre targets on Shenzhen and Guangzhou market.
我是一位有十年廣東話教資的老師，也在2015年在香港教育局完成了教師註冊。我曾經在以協助來港新移民為主的婦聯，以及以深圳和廣州市場為主的粵港粵好(粵學粵好)擔任粵語老師。دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
I will be spending the first 4 lessons on Cantonese Jyutping (including 6 tones, initials and finals). I would focus on the tone pitches (flat tones, rising tones, falling tone), the differences between voiced vowels (b g d in English) and voiceless vowels (b g d in Cantonese) and the unique main vowel "oe".
After that, we will be learning basic grammatical structures such as MSOV 本書喺屋企. There are 5 chapters for beginner level including Self-introduction, shopping, giving a phone call, food ordering and transport.
我們會用四節課學習粵拼(含6聲、聲韻母)。我會集中糾正音高(升、降和平調)、圓唇音oe oi ui yu和入聲(ptk)，其後會介紹語法差異，如我畀咗本書你 vs 我給了你一本書。初級有五課：自我介紹、購物、打電話、嗌嘢食(點餐)和搭車。課堂重點包括如何說出地道粵語。موادي الخاصة بالتدريس

I had my first Cantonese lesson with Dennis today, and my second Cantonese lesson ever. He was absolutely fantastic. He was professional, knowledgeable, and I could tell that he had years of teaching experience behind him. I liked the way his lessons/materials were structured and it felt like there was a lot of thought behind it. I didn't feel judged with my pronunciation/grammar and he was great with picking up my weaknesses and making it a teaching moment. I'll definitely be scheduling more lessons with him.

Experienced, professional and well-prepared. An hour with Dennis probably equals double the hours of learning somewhere else. Dennis spots your issues in Cantonese quickly and corrects them. He also tailors the class according to your needs even if that means some extra work for him. A very pleasant learning experience.
