Hello! My name is Luisa. It’s a real pleasure to be here, and if you want and allow me, I’d love to be your friend.I’m a cheerful, outgoing, and positive person , always smiling and full of energy. I’m also persevering and believe that every experience is an opportunity to grow. I’m a dancer and have participated in cultural events such as the Barranquilla Carnival, where I danced for many years. I’m passionate about learning about new cultures, sharing mine, and teaching others about my country, Colombia. I’m also a language teacher; I teach Spanish and English to children and teenagers. Learning Spanish with Luisa never feels like work. It feels like catching up with a friend. Our lessons flow like real conversations, whether we’re talking about hair, work, or whatever else comes up. It’s like girl talk that just happens to be in Spanish! I always feel comfortable, supported, and excited to keep learning with her. I genuinely love our sessions.

Our class was amazing, as always! One of the things I really appreciate about Luisa is how supportive she is without ever making it too easy and coddling me. When I ask for help, she’s there with an answer, but if she sees that I’m trying to figure something out myself (even if give her my best “please just tell me” look after a while), she smiles and encourages me to keep going. It’s a great balance—she gives me the space to think things through, and it helps me feel like I’m really owning the language.

I took a break from taking lessons for approx. 8 weeks and haven't spoken much Spanish since. Luisa made this entire lesson feel like I haven't missed a beat. She got me talking, asked a lot of questions, helped me figure out some tenses and introduced new vocabulary that will help me build off what I already know. I'm super excited to start meeting with her on a regular basis again!
