Hello!
I'm Veronika and I'm Czech 🇨🇿, with a British, native-like accent, and C2 level of English.
Since my motto is 'Do what you love, love what you do' 🩵, I've managed to combine my two great passions; music and English, and made a career out of it!
I play the piano, the acoustic guitar, and 'm learning to sing. I'm curious about all the English accents of the world so I spend even my free time by extra listening!
As our paths are not always direct, I used to be an artisan 'bakeress' 👩🏻🍳 (that's my way of promoting more feminine nouns :) ), which is now more of a plan for retirement. 🤭
When I'm not working, you'll find me out running, or playing different instruments. 🎹 🎸عني كمعلّم
I've got over a decade of experience with 1-on-1 teaching of general English, including 3 years of experience teaching the General British accent to students of all levels, and a year of experience teaching the General American accent. With a background in music, I can hear the smallest of nuances when a student is struggling to produce a particular sound, an intonation pattern, etc.
I’ve always been fascinated by and passionate about the world where music and language combine, ambitious to achieve a native-like level as a non-native speaker, single-minded, and driven. So I spent extra hours drilling on my own or working on my accents (currently GB and GA) with accent reduction coaches. دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
Accent Reduction 🇬🇧
We will want to reduce your native accent when speaking English. This does NOT mean you should be ashamed of your accent! We only want to ADJUST your accent so that you're widely understood.
It all depends on your current level. Generally, first we'll work on individual sounds, trying to use them in your natural speech. At the same time, we'll concentrate on word stress, rhythm, intonation, etc. Working on these will make your speech sound clearer, more professional and native-like!

I had a wonderful conversation about phonetics. It open up a lot of ideas and interesting questions about how sound work, how speech work. I am curious about what more I can learn. Veronika is very knowledgable, and she have practical experience on how to have control over your articulations. I highly recommend her class for anyone who is interested.
