Hello, I'm Jamie from Singapore, where English is our official language. Most of us speak a second language due to our cultural diversity and mine's Mandarin (Chinese). I am also fluent in Spanish.
I believe languages open our minds to different cultures and broadens our understanding of different people. Therefore, I'm keen to help others in their journey as I can appreciate the difficulties of mastering something new. It doesn't matter where we are in this journey, as long as we choose to start!عني كمعلّم
I have been tutoring students in English one-on-one since 2006 and typically tailor my classes according to the needs of my students. My specialty is in business English and conversation fluency for adults.
My native languages are English and Mandarin. I am also TOEFL-C2 certified (English) and DELE-B2 certified (Spanish). As I speak three languages, I can switch among the three if my student needs help on how something should be correctly translated. As an English speaker not from your usual English-speaking countries like the US, UK, Australia or New Zealand, I have a very clear accent which makes it much easier for beginners to understand and learn.
My personality is very calm and open-minded. I love adventures and new experiences, as well as learning about new perspectives. In my classes, I prefer to first understand where you’re at and what you need in your learning journey so that I can tailor my lessons to suit your goals.
