Hello! I’m Sokneang, a certified Khmer teacher from Cambodia. With 3+ years of teaching Khmer locally and 1 year online, I specialize in helping learners master conversational skills and cultural nuances. My background includes TESOL training and volunteering with diverse communities, enriching my cross-cultural teaching approach.

I am an experienced language teacher with 6 years of teaching English and 3 years of teaching Khmer to local and 1 year to online international learners . I completed training at the National Institute of Education and continue to grow through professional development. My teaching styles is student-centered and adaptable, designed to help learners achieve their goals—whether for daily conversation, travel, or culture purposes. As a teacher, I always consider my students as my friends rather than teachers and students and I'll always the materials and methods if they work well if my students or not . I use a range of resources, including flashcards , slideshow lessons with romanization and English translations, to make learning clear and accessible. Notice, before they join the class, I'll send the flashcards with audios to my students before class so that they learn before me. And before each class, I will review past lessons and during the lesson, I encourage students to practice speaking and forming sentences through conversations or online quizzes games which I purchased for making my lessons interactive and interesting, I believe this method gives learners a practical, conversational and joyful experience, helping them build confidence and sound more natural in Khmer.موادي الخاصة بالتدريس

Sokneang is a great teacher! She kind, patient, and very flexible/willing to meet you at your specific language learning goals. She also provides very helpful quizlets, homework assignments, and other materials that are useful for studying outside of class time. I highly recommend her!

I recently started learning Khmer with Sokneang. Her teaching is very good and I learned a lot already in only a few lessons. She gives me a preview of the lesson in Quizlet, and we review when the lesson starts. She includes audio on the flashcards, which is very helpful. I enjoy her class and look forward to continue learning with Sokneang!

Great lesson with Sokneang! We reviewed the "adjectives" document that Sokneang sent me earlier in the week. Sokneang is really great about creating flashcards and sending me the document in advance. We also did some reading and dictation. Then we played a game that Sokneang created. It was fun! Sokneang is encouraging and motivating!

I really enjoy learning with Sokneang! I haven't been learning Khmer for that long, but Sokneang helps me feel at ease with the language and encourages me with her positive attitude. The lessons are really fun, easy to follow and have a relaxed atmosphere. She has a lot of material to go through and also provides a lot of individually prepared review material. 😊

Great lesson with Sokneang! The lesson was focused on "colors". Sokneang sent me a document and flashcards about colors so that I could preview before the lesson. We made many sentences using colors. We also did some blending (vowel/consonant) and some dictation. Sokneang is dedicated and caring. She adapted her method of teaching reading to make it easier for me!

Great lesson with Sokneang! We learned all about using "ban" in Khmer. It has many different uses. Sokneang gave a good explanation of each use along with several example sentences. We also did some reading/blending and we played a game (which Sokneang won). Sokneang did a great job of adapting the class. She is helping me make continued progress and improvement!
