¡Hola! I’m Kaliyah, a certified English teacher with a multicultural twist. After mastering Spanish while living in Spain, I fell in love with bridging language gaps—both as a teacher and a lifelong learner (Turkish and Arabic, anyone?). My year teaching Spanish teens taught me how to make language feel alive, not just textbook-perfect. Whether you’re prepping for travel, work, or just fun chats, I blend real-world fluency with your personal goals. As a language learner myself I am very aware of the varying language styles. Once we are able to figure out your language style, I will be able to develop a curriculum that is perfectly tailored for you. For students who are looking for perfecting their speaking I am able to build conversation based on your interests. For students who are struggling with understanding the language I can equip you with many tasks to build those skills. If you are starting from the very beginning, we can work at a pace that is slow yet, still challenges you. I enjoy teaching that involves some grammar however, I like to focus heavier on real life situations. Activities that invoke speaking are the best way to see what the student needs to work on as well as giving them a chance to learn new and natural words or phrases. I believe the best way to learn a language is to speak the language as much as you can with a native speaker. Speaking, listening, reading, and writing are all very important components of learning a language. However, I am able to adapt to whatever type of student you are. Tell me what you like, and I am here to help.
