I am from the north of England but have been living in Italy for over 20 years. Today I live north of Rome in a small medieval town. I previously spent six years working in Japan and before that two years in France. I am an extremely active person cycling kms up and down the Apennines, swimming lengths to refresh my mind and motorcycling around Europe on my 800cc Ducati. I think I am easy-going, sunny and friendly and get on with most people.
I am curious about life and our world – history, literature, film, world music, current affairs and politics, and have strong opinions on them all! When at home or on the train, etc my head is always in a book, listening to music or watching films..عني كمعلّم
I have taught English as a foreign language for over 30 years in France, Spain, Japan and Italy. I have the TEFL certificate and the equivalent of DELTA which I received while working in Japan. Outside italki I teach privately and also at an Italian high school (liceo) in the language department. My speciality is tutoring students for international certificates such as IELTS, CAE and FCE. I especially love getting my students over the horrible hurdle of the writing test! Having said this, I also have experience of working in tourism, film and retail outside of my teaching experience, I also teach general English for travel and friendship.دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
I have been teaching on italki now for over 3 years now and find it an efficient, relaxing and fun way of teaching. My lessons are always conducted in English (although if I know the students own language, I can help out when necessary). I have a wide variety of materials collected over many years, such as videos and audio material, interesting (?) grammar exercises, etc but am happy to use the student's own material, if they wish. I have an open, friendly and conversational style of teaching and always aim to get my students talking and interacting with me from the very beginning. Jullia is an outstanding teacher, truly one of the few and far between that you can meet on iTalki! My English had been neglected and had lingered in a limbo state for years due to various reasons: laziness, boredom, and an inability to get along with a teacher.
