My name is Kevin from Bolivia but I've lived in Spain for the last 6 years, helping me to enrich my Spanish and cultural knowledge. Sports, languages, and travelling are three of my biggest passions in life. I also try to keep myself updated on what's happening around the world.
As a self-taught language student, I focus now on Afrikaans. Always trying different fun language-learning techniques such as frequency repetition cards, shadowing, vocabulary by context, use of stories, and of course ... the best one ... working with a tutor.
Languages open new doors, not only in the professional field, but they also help us understand and view the world from a different angle.
I see myself as patient and friendly. But also also serious, respectful, and goal-orientated. I focus on communication and cultural aspects of the language. I embrace "mistakes" because we can learn a lot from them. So PLEASE, don't be afraid to make mistakes!
I've been trying to improve my teaching skills which is why I obtained a certification in Online ELE Teaching (ELE: Español como Lengua Extranjera).
I'm comfortable with English or French if necessary, but I try to use only Spanish so you can be exposed to the language as much as possible. In the beginning, we'll discuss your goals and expectations. This will provide me with a guide to personalize your learning experience.

I wanted to write this in English so that any prospective students can understand just what a fantastic tutor Kevin is. I've had so many tutors (more than 20 I think and I must have had nearly 100 classes) on iTalki and there have been some very good ones. Kevin is BY FAR the best though, and I really can't speak highly enough of him and the help he's given me over the past 6 months or so.
Every conversation is completely different to the last and we talk about all sorts of things. He keeps a record of what we do each session so that you can revise and he sends brilliant resources that are fun and useful. Most importantly, Kevin is ALWAYS interested in what you have to say.
If you want to improve your Spanish, I can't emphasise enough how much I recommend Kevin!

I've done lessons with 15 community tutors in italki and Kevin is among the best that I've found. He's a good conversationalist, offers feedback and corrections without breaking the flow of conversation, and is interesting to talk to.

I have been learning ES for Kevin for years now (with a break in the middle), he is the reason I didn't abandon that endeavour (one of them), he keeps me engaged and his open-mindedness allows us to discuss pretty much anything, no limits in place. And I can speak with that very little grammar I have (I have never wanted to go the standard route to study grammar for years without no real ability to speak).
Well, I speak now.
With a bad accent but I do understand everything I hear.
