Lara was excellent - friendly, professional and methodical. She encouraged me to speak a lot and gave good guidance and feedback, with a plan of how to proceed from here. I'll be booking more lessons with her for sure.

I have completed a number of classes with Lara and cannot recommend her lessons enough. Lara is a consummate professional. Her classes, for which she is extremely well-prepared, are structured, challenging and rewarding in equal measure. Lara's years of experience in language teaching are clearly evident and she deftly incorporates conversational practice into clearly explained lessons focused on grammar. Moreover, Lara is friendly, open and encouraging and these qualities make the learning process very enjoyable.

Lara and I had an in-depth discussion about dangerous breeds of dog, referencing an article she sent me to read. Tackling interesting topics helps me get past my insecurity about making mistakes. An encouraging class that left me feeling like I’m making progress.

This was my last lesson with Lara before going to Spain. I do not know where to begin. Never did I think I would have so much confidence and knowledge in Spanish until now, and I am forever grateful to Lara for helping me achieve this. I recall in my first lessons that I kept telling Lara that I was so nervous and did not know hardly anything. Now, Lara and I are able to have full conversations in Spanish, and I feel so much better. Lara is the best teacher you could ever have, and that is not an exaggeration. Thank you so much, Lara! I truly appreciate you.

I enjoyed my session with Lara. She is patient, offers ample corrections in chat, and was relatively easy to understand. She prefers zoom to the iTalki classroom, which I would have preferred, but it works fine. She sent follow-up materials immediately after my lesson. As well, her teaching style is a bit more directly grammar-focused than other teachers I have tried, versus the more unstructured conversational experience I was after. But if you're looking for a more technical style of lesson, Lara would be a good fit. I can see myself returning to her when I want to work on specific aspects of Spanish rather than just general conversation practice.
