Hi! I’m Mariya, originally from Kazakhstan and now living in Vienna, where I’m learning German. Russian is my native language, and I also speak English (B2, IELTS certified).
I have friends from many different countries, and I’ve learned how exciting it is to connect through language and culture.
I studied Documentation Management and Archival Science, which helped me develop a deep understanding of the Russian language. Its structure, style, and how people communicate in different contexts.
For me, learning a language is not about rules - it’s about real connection and in my free time I enjoy traveling, watching movies, and exploring new cultures, all things I’d love to talk abعني كمعلّم
For me, the most important part of learning a language is speaking - just talking, making mistakes, and learning from them.
During our lessons, we’ll focus mainly on conversation, but if you want, I can also help you learn new words and give you small, simple exercises to practice.

My lessons are relaxed and focused on real communication. I believe that speaking is the best way to learn, so we’ll talk about everyday topics like travel, culture, food, or movies, whatever you enjoy.
You can decide what we discuss, and I’ll guide the conversation to help you improve naturally.
Sometimes I’ll share useful phrases or small tasks to expand your vocabulary.

Super lesson with Maria! Maria sent me a story before class. When we started I told her that I read the story, and we had an interesting conversation about it. Maria also asked me about the last book that I read in French, so we talked about that as well. Maria is definitely helping me to be more at ease with speaking. I always enjoy talking with Maria and learning from her!

Maria is very friendly and encouraging; I really enjoyed my lesson with her. It was fun to talk about life in Kazakhstan. Aside from our conversation, Maria helped me with my pronunciation ahead of a work presentation and prepared a useful Google Doc with new vocabulary and suggestions for improving my Russian speaking. Super lesson with Maria! We talked about weather and snow. I brought up that I have trouble with verbs of motion, and Maria adjusted the lesson to talk about them. We also finished the slide deck on "entertainment". Maria is excellent at checking to see if I don't understand something and making sure that she updates our shared document so that I can review!

Super lesson with Maria! We started with some small talk, as usual. Maria noticed that I wasn't properly pronouncing the x sound. We practiced that for some time and I started being able to make the sound. We also continued going through the presentation that Maria created about "books". Maria doesn't only read the presentation, but she asks me different questions that relate to the presentation. Maria is doing a great job of helping me improve my speaking and understanding. I always enjoy learning with Maria!

Excellent lesson with Maria! We started with small talk about weather and wish lists. After that, we went through a presentation that Maria created about "books". We talked about different hobbies and various types of books. Maria does a great job of adding any new vocabulary to our shared document. Maria also gives me time to complete my thoughts while speaking, which helps a lot!

Super lesson with Maria! We continued talking about "entertainment". In Maria's lessons, I get plenty of listening and speaking practice. Maria is really good at explaining and at asking questions. Maria always brings fun and interesting topics for discussion to the lesson, and it was definitely fun talking about entertainment!
