I have been tutoring conversational Spanish for the past 10 years, as a hobby with friends, now as a part-time hobby to help students deepen their knowledge of the language beyond grammar and textbooks, while we do of course address grammar issues as they may arise. Presently, I tutor in conversational Spanish online. I like to make my classes fun to ensure you are enjoying yourself.
My students include those who want to improve their spoken Spanish, pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, retirees & expats about to move to Spain...
* I teach levels A2 (advanced beginners or pre-intermediate) & above.

My conversational classes are intended to help students improve their oral skills, both practical conversation as well as pronunciation.
My methodology is simple and effective:
1- Understand the student's needs and define learning goals.
2- Propose a teaching approach based on students' preferences and combining various resources (for ex. Q&A, audio, video, role play, text, etc).
3- Maintain a structure with purpose, we don't talk randomly.5.0

I’m actually a Spanish teacher and have been teaching language for a long, long time. Although I have a close friend and colleague who’s from Spain and with whom I speak regularly, I wanted someone else - another native speaker - with whom to practice. I’ve been talking to Ignacio for over a year now and I always learn something about Spanish (idiomatic language and vocabulary, for example) or about Spain. I’m planning to retire and spend significant time in Spain, including on the Camino de Santiago, of which Ignacio has loads of experience and has been a font of important information. He’s interesting and interested, and I highly recommend him.

¡Muchas gracias, Ignacio! You were very patient with me, as the difference between what I can understand and what I can say in Spanish is quite large (relying very heavily on other related languages just now as I haven't studied Spanish formally before). Thank you for the suggestions for how I can improve and for the feedback on my pronunciation as well. I look forward to more conversation practice soon!
