Hi! I’m Hitomi from Tokyo—just call me Hitomi, please. With over 20 years of experience in Japanese business, I specialize in helping professionals and learners master real, everyday Japanese for work and daily life. My passion for travel has taken me across Asia, America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, so I love connecting with people from all backgrounds and cultures. Outside of teaching, I enjoy swimming, yoga, tennis, watching dramas and ballet, cooking, and, of course, savoring great coffee. My international experiences and long career in Japanese companies mean I can offer unique insights into Japanese work culture, communication, and job interviews. If you want to speak natural Japanese and understand the culture behind the language, I’m here to help. This week, Hitomi-san graciously allowed me to reschedule, on short-notice. Thank you! Our conversation lesson flowed easily. She help me dive into interesting and complex topics such as work, economics and geopolitics. At my skill level, this is very challenging, but Hitomi-san somehow helped me express my thoughts. I really enjoy talking with her!

My first lesson with Hitomi-san was very good! She is patient, kind and personable. She evaluated my language level, and helped me remember many words that I had forgotten, and taught me some new words. Hitomi-san provided thorough lesson notes to reinforce all that I learned. I look forward to our next lesson!

瞳先生は素晴らしい日本語の教師です。いつも真剣にレッスンの準備をしてくれました。私のニーズに合わせて、とても上手に日本語を説明してくれました。レッスンの雰囲気はとても楽しいので、リラックスして日本語を学ぶことができます。授業は非常に勉強になるので、瞳先生のレッスンを強くお勧めします。 Hitomi is an excellent Japanese teacher. She always prepared thoroughly for the class. All aspects of Japanese were very well explained according to my needs. The atmosphere of her class is relaxed and ideal for practicing speaking skills. I have learnt a lot in her lessons and highly recommend Hitomi as Japanese teacher.
