Hola! I’m Lara, a Spanish and French teacher based in Australia. Spanish is my native language, and I’m fluent in French and English. My journey with languages started through travel and immersion, which helped me reach native fluency in both. I know first-hand the challenges of learning a language beyond the basics, for example, you know the verbs but you overthink the conjugation before speaking. Good news is you just need to practise! When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me diving, exploring nature, reading, or watching films. I believe that language is more than just grammar—it’s a tool to connect with people and cultures, and that’s exactly how I approach my lessons.

¡Excelente profesora! Me encantó nuestra primera clase. Lara es muy maja y paciente, lo que me permite aprender de forma natural y cómoda. Con ella, espero mejorar mis habilidades de conversación y ampliar mi vocabulario. Como también habla otros idiomas, entiende lo que necesito. Utiliza materiales y juegos divertidos, así como explicaciones gramáticas y ejemplos claros. ¡Con muchas ganas de seguir aprendiendo con ella!

Lara was great! Super friendly and easy to talk to. I always feel stupid when I try to speak Spanish, but she made me feel comfortable enough to do the entire lesson in Spanish. She was patient and encouraging and paused to answer my many questions. Highly recommended.

Lara a beaucoup d'énergie et s'adapte directement à nos besoins. Pendant ce cours d'essai, j'ai apprécié qu'elle relève l'un de mes points faibles pour que l'on puisse le travailler durant cette heure. Elle prend aussi note des autres erreurs pour les corriger en fin de séance. Elle prend le temps d'écouter, d'expliquer et s'assure que l'on comprend tout au long du cours. Elle explique également la façon dont elle travaille et proposes des pistes de travail pour les prochains cours.

I just finished my 10-lesson package and Lara was really great. We had discussions on a lot of different topics. She took the time to correct me, explain my mistakes, give me tips. It’s really pleasant to talk with her without any pressure.

Okay, I was hesitant to begin my Spanish learning journey but, my goodness, am I glad I took the plunge now. Lara is encouraging, informative and resourceful. She is very pleasant and easy to talk to. She uses explanations and comparisons from English and what little French I already know to enhance the Spanish lessons. Showing a clear proficiency in all 3 languages. As first lessons go, I'm not sure I could be in better hands. Looking forward to the next one.
