Umuhoza Karen

I recommend Umuhoza for all levels of Swahili learners. Her wealth of knowledge of different east African cultures/customs adds an extra level of benefits to taking her classes for beginners to advance level learners.

If it were possible I would definitely rate Umuhoza Karen much higher. She was very kind and understanding in her approach and always encourages me to keep speaking Swahili. She made the lesson very fun and interactive, and she is very knowledgeable about the Swahili language, she explains clearly and precisely more than what the word means but how to use it properly she is one of the best Swahili teachers out there. I'll definitely be doing more lessons with her, and I have nothing but great things to say about her.

I could you recommend Umuhoza more highly. I learn a lot during her classes AND it is a lot of fun. This must be the best way to learn a language... She leads the class Professionally, and seems to understand very well how to adapt her curriculum to my needs, interests and learning speed. When we talk, it is like I am in Africa already!

Karen is a truly skilled instructor who conscientiously elucidates the nuances of each word employed in Ikinyarwanda. Moreover, she adeptly adjusts her approach to accommodate your objectives, a quality I deeply value. I highly recommend her.

Karen has been a very good teacher so far. I started taking lessons with a lot of grammar and vocabulary but no experience in speaking or listening comprehension and this is exactly what I'm getting out of the lessons. She speaks slowly and I am well able to understand most of what she says. If I don't, she writes words in the chat and explains them in Swahili, which is really helpful. She gently corrects mistakes and teaches me more idiomatic expressions. I can sincerely recommend her!
