Sunny greetings from Johannesburg, South Africa! 🇿🇦 As a native Afrikaans speaker with fluent English, I love helping students master this rich, melodic language. Whether you’re starting from scratch or polishing fluency, I blend patience and fun into every lesson. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me exploring nature or curled up with a book—always curious, just like my students! Let’s make Afrikaans feel like home together. My best personality trait is that I can make people feel at ease. With my computer teaching background, I worked with children and adults, and I can adapt to working with different personality types and age groups. I offer three types of lessons - Conversational practice, General/Structured Afrikaans & Children's Lessons. Conversational - I aim to improve your spoken Afrikaans and practice Afrikaans conversation and communication skills by talking about what you like and what your interests are. General/Structured Afrikaans is more formal with structured lessons and focuses on writing, reading, and listening skills as well as grammar, spelling, vocabulary, sentence constructions, etc. Kids : I offer conversational practice or general/structured lessons, as above, but include more activities, like games, songs, videos, drawing & art. I use an easy-going and communicative teaching style.

Annalise is really good at getting me to pronounce well and get started in an immersive setting - only speaking Afrikaans. I'm a beginner, but she has been well prepared to increase the the learning speed as needed. I find her easy to work with and am very happy with the progress.
