With 10 years of teaching and a doctorate in Teaching Turkish to Foreigners (Hacettepe University), I blend academic depth with practical fluency. My background in Ancient Turkish Literature and multilingual skills (Arabic, English, etc.) help me connect with diverse learners. I believe language thrives through stories and mistakes—so expect lively, stress-free lessons infused with cultural gems. Once this environment is established, I focus on the core 5 skills based on the European Language Portfolio framework: Reading, Listening, Grammar, Writing, and Speaking. I ensure effective interaction with students, providing simplified examples, using vocabulary and phrases appropriate for their level, and teaching within a context. It is always such a pleasure to study with instructor Çiğdem. A doctoral student with a comprehensive knowledge and excellent teaching skills, she follows up her classes with relevant material, questions, answers, all in sharp details. My mistakes are corrected promptly and caringly. This very much supports my learning, especially at my age of 70. Additionally, Çiğdem's kindness and positive nature energizes and encourages me. I’ve had a great experience with this teacher. She explains things much more clearly than textbooks, and I’ve made a lot of progress in a short time!! She’s also very kind and has a fun personality, which makes lessons really enjoyable. I’ll definitely continue learning with her.

Çiğdem is an amazing teacher, and I would HIGHLY recommend her. She speaks Turkish throughout the lesson, but always at a level I can understand- even as a beginner. After class, she sends a helpful document with all the words and phrases we used, which makes reviewing much easier. Turkish used to feel like a struggle, but learning with Çiğdem has made it not only easier, but fun. I really appreciate her use of repetition; she doesn’t just teach something once and move on. We revisit topics often, which helps a lot. She’s also flexible and adjusts the pace based on what I need. Every lesson has been enjoyable, and I truly wish I could have class with her every day. She makes me excited to learn, and I can’t say enough good things. If you’re looking for a supportive, skilled, and engaging Turkish tutor, Çiğdem is the one!

Merhaba! I am so happy to have Miss Çiğdem as my teacher ☺️! She explains everything so clearly and is always encouraging. Initially, I was worried that I would be entirely lost since my Turkish is very minimal.
