Shlama! My name is Danny, and I’m passionate about sharing the beauty of Assyrian-Aramaic (Suret) with the world. I’ve spent the past eight months living in Iraq, deeply connected to my roots while working on cultural and educational projects. My journey has taken me from broadcasting at Babylon FM—where I shared stories about Assyrian heritage—to leading GISHRU, a nonprofit that organizes heritage trips for young Assyrians to rediscover their homeland. I’ve also collaborated with The Return, an initiative advocating for the Assyrian presence and cultural revival in their ancestral lands. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to preserving and teaching our ancient language.عني كمعلّم
As a teacher, I bring not only language knowledge but also cultural insight. I understand how important it is to feel connected to the words you learn. My time working with Assyrian communities and cultural organizations has taught me how to adapt my lessons for students of all backgrounds—whether you’re a heritage learner reconnecting with your roots or someone fascinated by Aramaic history. Danny is the best Sureth teacher ever! He goes by the book and corrects me when I make errors or if I stutter. Definitely going to be booking more lessons so my speaking proficiency can improve!

Danny is super patient and corrects me when I say something wrong or tries to fill in the gaps of what I don't know. I also get to learn different ways of saying a word/sentence which helps me in diversifying my Aramaic.
