Shlama! My name is Danny, and I’m passionate about sharing the beauty of Assyrian-Aramaic (Suret) with the world. I’ve spent the past eight months living in Iraq, deeply connected to my roots while working on cultural and educational projects. My journey has taken me from broadcasting at Babylon FM—where I shared stories about Assyrian heritage—to leading GISHRU, a nonprofit that organizes heritage trips for young Assyrians to rediscover their homeland. I’ve also collaborated with The Return, an initiative advocating for the Assyrian presence and cultural revival in their ancestral lands. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to preserving and teaching our ancient language.عني كمعلّم
As a teacher, I bring not only language knowledge but also cultural insight. I understand how important it is to feel connected to the words you learn. My time working with Assyrian communities and cultural organizations has taught me how to adapt my lessons for students of all backgrounds—whether you’re a heritage learner reconnecting with your roots or someone fascinated by Aramaic history. I had my first session with Daniel today and I found it to already be very helpful. Daniel is very patient and is great at guiding me to understand Assyrian. Looking forward to working with him more in the future!

I enjoyed talking to Daniel, a fellow Assyrian. I am so happy to be able to find someone with whom I can practice my Assyrian skills, and Daniel provided that format for me. I found our first session to be highly informative and productive, and Daniel seems like a very friendly and open person. I highly recommend him if you want to learn the beautiful Assyrian language! I just had my second lesson with Daniel! He is very patient and corrects me immediately when I mispronounce something wrong or when I mix some words with another language. Daniel also teaches me to learn different ways of saying a word or pronunciations in his dialect and the Baghdeda dialect! He is definitely the tutor to book with!

I highly recommend learning Aramaic with Daniel if you’re interested in Semitic languages. The classes are engaging, and really, how cool is it to be able to speak some Aramaic? Daniel is patient, kind, and very knowledgeable.
