Shlama! My name is Danny, and I’m passionate about sharing the beauty of Assyrian-Aramaic (Suret) with the world. I’ve spent the past eight months living in Iraq, deeply connected to my roots while working on cultural and educational projects. My journey has taken me from broadcasting at Babylon FM—where I shared stories about Assyrian heritage—to leading GISHRU, a nonprofit that organizes heritage trips for young Assyrians to rediscover their homeland. I’ve also collaborated with The Return, an initiative advocating for the Assyrian presence and cultural revival in their ancestral lands. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to preserving and teaching our ancient language.عني كمعلّم
As a teacher, I bring not only language knowledge but also cultural insight. I understand how important it is to feel connected to the words you learn. My time working with Assyrian communities and cultural organizations has taught me how to adapt my lessons for students of all backgrounds—whether you’re a heritage learner reconnecting with your roots or someone fascinated by Aramaic history. Danny is super patient and corrects me when I say something wrong or tries to fill in the gaps of what I don't know. I also get to learn different ways of saying a word/sentence which helps me in diversifying my Aramaic.

I had my first Aramaic lesson with Daniel, and it was a wonderful experience. He immediately made me feel comfortable, and the class was well-structured, clear, and engaging.
When Daniel learned that I already had some background in the language, he immediately adjusted the lesson to match my level. It was still challenging enough to keep me engaged but also very interesting, and I learned a lot even in just the first class. Daniel was also patient, supportive and encouraging throughout.
I’m excited to continue learning and I’m looking forward to our next class! I would definitely recommend Daniel to anyone interested in Aramaic.
