Hi, I’m Lisa—a certified TEFL/IELTS tutor and native English/Afrikaans speaker from South Africa! With a Bachelor’s in Education, I specialize in making English fun and accessible for beginners and advanced learners alike. Whether you’re a student, traveler, or just curious, I love helping you master grammar, pronunciation, and storytelling in a relaxed, friendly way. I strive to be professional yet friendly and relatable, making students feel like they're talking to a friend, not a teacher. I want learning to be enjoyable. I will start the lesson by asking if the student has anything in particular that they find difficult or need help with. I will try to understand my student's point of view and circumstances as much as possible. It will be a fun, interactive class, where my students and I will get to know each other on a friendly level. I will find out what my students enjoy in general, such as books, movies, series etc. My lessons will be based on the learner's needs and questions. I will expand their knowledge by giving them an activity to do that is either based on what they found difficult, or a continuation of their set work. Bachelor of Education - UNISA - 2025I have studied at the University of South Africa for 5 years, and I had to complete assignments, as well as teaching practice and attain a certain number of credits to obtain my degree. This certificate qualifies me as a professional teacher for Grades 4–7, with English as a teaching subject.
