Hi! I’m Heeyoung, a native Korean with 10+ years of teaching experience, now living in France. Having spent half my life abroad, being in international relationships, and raising a multilingual child, I know the challenges and joys of language learning firsthand. I'm passionate about education and art, and I stay curious about diverse subjects and ways of living. I specialize in helping beginners of all ages, from teens to seniors, many of whom continue studying with me long-term. My goal is to help you connect more deeply and personally with the Korean language and culture in a way that fits your needs and interests. We’ll be a great match if you - want a tutor experienced with beginners who can slow down and meet you at your pace - build conversation skills through diverse topics and contexts - immerse in Korean, with clear English explanations when needed - love exploring languages, cultures, and identities - live abroad and are finding your place - have a Korean partner and want to deepen your connection - are a parent who values discussions on childcare or raising a multilingual child My lessons focus on everyday conversation and speaking. We’ll cover grammar and vocabulary, but with minimal lecture—you’ll spend most of the class actively using Korean. Whether you’re adjusting to life overseas, exploring your Korean roots, or beginning your language journey, I’ll meet you at your pace with patience and warmth. 🌼

Heeyoung 선생님 is a great teacher! Thanks to her help and patience, I can now communicate simple messages in Korean, and read Korean characters (which was not successful for a long time without her). Among all her good qualities as a teacher, I especially appreciate her for adjusting the learning pace for me and making sure that I can use what I learned before moving on. Her grammar explanation is also very clear and easy to understand. It’s helpful that she understands the difference between Korean grammar and English grammar (and Japanese grammar) from her teaching and learning experience, and knows what Korean learners find difficult.　 英語ができる日本人の方にもおすすめの先生です。

Heeyoung really is a great teacher. Yes she is patient, engaging, encouraging, and all the good stuff any teacher should have, but what I feel sets her apart is that she is totally genuine and down-to-earth as a person. You can tell she honestly cares about her students progress and reaching their language goals. I could feel it in her intro video, which is ultimately what led me to scheduling lessons with her and I wasn't disappointed. And neither will you be!

My lessons with Heeyoung are always fun and interesting. Whether it is a grammar lesson or free talking, our lessons are helpful, and I always feel comfortable speaking Korean and making mistakes 🙊 my speaking confidence has grown significantly since I started lessons with Heeyoung. The content is fun, and Heeyoung really makes an effort to get to know you and your interests so that we talk about things of interest to myself. It really feels like I’m just talking to a friend at times, making it feel even more natural and more ‘fun’ than feeling like a ‘chore’ having a lesson. 감사합니다 선생님
