Hi there! I’m a native Amharic teacher who loves meeting new people from all over the world. When I’m not teaching, I work in sales, marketing, and project management, utilizing my degrees in Computer Science and PM.
Because I’m currently studying Spanish, I truly understand the challenges of learning a new language. I strive to make my lessons comfortable, engaging, and fun. In my 18 months on italki, I’ve led 300+ successful sessions, and I can’t wait to help you next.

Rahel is very knowledgeable about Ethiopian Tawehedo Christianity and Amhar culture, which helps a great deal in understanding a land which is quite different, yet similar in many often unforeseen ways. The World is an interconnected place and understanding the similarities is necessary to avoid evils such as racism and Fascism.

Hello! I have been in over a dozen of Rahel's lessons, and each time, I leave with more enthusiasm for the language. She teaches in a way that engages and holds me accountable to the homework that I should know. At the same time, she is very gracious when I do not know and readily slows down a lesson to meet me at my understanding. It has been a pleasure learning from her.
